会場レポート

スタッフが飛び回り取材し、会場よりその様子をお届けします。

Every year one of the things the Daidogei press staff look forward
to almost as much as the performances is the food. Last year's
favorite, Nathans Hotdogs, is unfortunately not here this year.

While many great food stalls came back, Thai Noodles, Middle
Eastern Kebabs, etc..., a star was needed. Just when we thought
all was lost, Nomado was found.

The coffee car sells a variety of coffee made from Italian roasted
beans as well as some of the most delicious sweets. Top
recomendation has to be the chocolate muffin and almond tart.

Hurry and get yours before they drive away when the festival is over today.

Many things are taking place during the Daidogei festival. One of
them is the "Sumpu Ocha Festival 2006". There you can get free
samples of delicious Shizuoka green tea. And on top of that you
can get your photo taken with the green tea princess dressed in
traditional tea picker costume.

With the 15th anniversary Daidogei goods are more popular than
ever. From pin badges, red noses to the pafo-glass, people are
lining up to get their hands on a souvenior. There is also the
chance to get exclusive goods from the Daidogei Museum.
Get yours soon...they are going fast!

Volunteers are making Daily Newspaper in the press center.

The schedule for night performance is in the evening letter,
and many stop by the information center to get them
even before they were ready. Once the evening letter came out,
many rushed to the information center.

It is our pleasure to make the articles that many people read.
We are printing them everyday during the event.
Please come and enjoy the performance and read the newsletter!

It's the second day of the Daidogei festival and that means it is Competition Day. One of the distinguishing features of this festival, World category performers also compete for the title of Champion.

The judges (13 people) have the impossible job of deciding who is best. Judging is done by "hat money points" based on the idea that if you had 1000 yen, how much would you pay for the performance. Sitting in the sun all day in crisp autmn weather while watching great performances all day is fun but deciding the champion is hard!
