Chance; French Canadian Michel met Japanese Tomoko, then he fall in love with her.
Change; Michel is originally very shy, but after he met Tomoko, he starts learnig circus, he came to play a paformance in public. that's big change in his life!!
Challenge; this is their first time to show in Shizuoka. They say "we are so happy to paform such a good place and also staff are very nice"
Pafoeming 3times a day for 4days could be hard for them, but they try their physical limits. More show you the power of love from their exparience.

We are MABO BAND from Italy!
How have you been? It's been 10 years, actually.

Have they been marching directry from Italy??
MABO BAND are really nice and friendly.
If you were lucky, you were able to see them performing on the street of
Shizuoka city during the Daidogei period.

On the final day, they showed a special performance.
The ball&baloon performance was just like the festival from their town.

He handle three clubs freely and quickly,and the club moves his forward,his back,his right,his left.Surely you will say 「Ah,Oh」watching his performance.

DUBU have been participated in DAIDOGEI world cup since it started for the first time, which means they
have joined this event for 17years.

before the performance started, they said "Wow, it looks so interesting " bythemselves with loud voice in order to appeal to passersby. With their friendly atmohphere make the audience relax and smile.

walking on a tight rope, riding on a monocycle, juggling, acrobatic performance...
They also include funny performance and talking in their performance, which makes the audience laugh a lot.
Today, they intentionally made some mistakes in order to make funny performance. In fact, it needs

high technique. Hey, kids, please don't imitate it.

"What makes performing art interesting for us is that we can know the reaction of the audience at once."
It can be a pressure, but they regard it as a motivation !!

She used to watch the chinese acrobatic on TV and yearned for it in her childhood.
8 years old little JoJo decided to learn it, nobody forced her to do it.

Of course, it was not so easy.
She had had so hard time that she intended to give up to acquire the skill many time.
And now here she is!
How wonderful!


Now she thanks to her family and her coach who have been supporting her.

A young Japanese acrobatic duo, JA RUUKA gives its first performances in shizuoka. You will be impressed by their acrodance, handstand, even warmup of this high-spirited performers! Their movements symbolize the relationship between man and woman, some reminding you of Spanish bullfighters' dance. Lively expressions on their faces are unforgettable. And you see they are both caring partners. Fresh from acrobatics college, JA RUUKA is really intense, bigorous and, heart-warming at the same time. Enjoy the intensity of feeling! They have their whole acrobatic lives ahead of them! We are looking forward to seeing them developing their career further.

Liz Small is a facepainting artist from Canada.
She likes Shizuoka.

''How many people have you painted on through this event so far?'' I asked.
''I can't count...'' She answered.
I am convinced of this snswer seeing a long long line of waiting people.

She answered our questions while painting.

''I think you have painted on lots of people in many areas so do you feel any differences between Japanese and other nationalities when they are being painted?'' I asked.
''Japanese are so patient when they are being painted. They wait even an hour quietly.'' She ansered.

Even while answering our questions, Liz finished painiting on one person with a beautiful facepainting and began to paint on the next person.
Roughly, 5minuits to one person. It's so nice and fast! Isn't it?

''According to nationalties, are paintings they preffer different?'' I asked.
''I don't think so.'' She answerd.
Everyone in this globe feel in the same way in front of Art maybe.

People who hasitate to do facepainting! Don't be shy!
Facepaintings can be washed away easily with soap.

Their show is full of parodies of American movies.Their slow-motion play is something.
